3B1 Continues Magical Dominance - Slams Home Unparallelled Five Peat in 9th Interblock Marketing Competition
For five straight years, 3B1 exacted mastery over the field in the Interblock Marketing Competition just last night at the Black Box.
The determined girls of 3B1 annually walked away with a title since Marita Adamos in 2008. After that historic turnaround, things were never the same. In 2009, the group dominated the IMC component, in 2010 winning again the IMC component plus the overall championship and in 2011 winning the overall championship to pave the way for this year.
A sweep of both the academic component and the IMC rolled the red carpet to an undisputed overall championship. So dominant was the presentation that it had the possibility to have won it all had it been presented in PANA. 3b1 got an average score of 97, maybe the highest in history even higher than 3ad7 last year from UST. 3B1 got one perfect score from one judge as a testimony of how great these young minds have prepared for this event.
The campaign was flawless, the presentation unparalleled and their poise when being questioned was just too steady which displays the depth of their preparation.
Weeks before the grand day, I was too jittery on what B1 will roll out considering from all groups, they were the most silent of all. Aside from that, the news on intramurals among the talents that be alarmed me that this might just be the year B1 will trip.
But no. There was too much pride in being B1 and the pressure of sustaining a four year reign was just too compelling to give up. The true leaders emerged giving up their egos in favor of the selflessness. And as the journey ended B1 completed a run, winning the academic portion by one point and easing in by winning 18 points over their closest rival in what has become the most dominating performance in Interblock history.
To all the great brains and help behind the success, I truly tip my hat as a respect and bow with admiration. Those were 20 minutes of booming the audience out of their wits that even Ms. Bu was wowed by your presentation.
For Bea Regala, Erika Paulino, Angela Quibrantos, Lara Pabalan, Loren Dimaano, Ms. Coloma, Faith Aranas and all the other talents of B1 that I failed to mention, CONGRATULATIONS on a job well done, a journey well travelled and just like all the other B1s before you, I will really miss being your teacher.
With such talents and with values all in the right places, I may be seeing what can be another great Media Production block.
For Monica Lerit, Charmz Pielago, Ms. Arizapa, Ms. P and those who supported their younglings, I just love what you do. And that maybe is the best component of the B1 Magic -- that the generations make sure that the young ones carry the torch and uphold a tradition started half a decade ago.
And as a response to all of you.... yes... I love B1 and I enjoyed every single moment of our lecture session / munching lunch. I do not have a single doubt that you will go all the way in Cinemalaya and when you do, I would be the first person in line to watch it. SEE YOU THERE!
Again.... CONGRATULATIONS TO THE BEST INTERBLOCK GROUP EVER! TRUE CHAMPIONS INSIDE AND OUT.
