Our classroom semester ended last Saturday and this may perhaps be our last time together within a three hour session and within the confines of 1301.
This is applicable to maybe 50% of you.
The semester did go very well and we are now facing a defining moment. How do we get to victory point?
At this point, I hope not very distant and that the road may be smooth and wide.
From plain 'miron' observation, I see 3B1 10-11 as one block with great minds finding a hard time to meshing the outward parts. I see egos getting ridiculously in the way. I see unresolved and unactualized greatness.
From the frontline talents of Camille DJ, Tinay Coloma, Denise Galoyo, Noelle Manansala, to name a few, to the technical expertise of all from this section, 3B1 10-11 has the utmost potential to unseat 3A1 in this competition.
But all of these moving parts should start to roll as one.
Previous B1s also have their stories too. Their stories may stem from power grabbing to simple intramurals. Some are silly and many are petty yet some are major and logical issues.
I vividly remember the 3B1 08-09 how Steph Mozawa and her block rallied from a block breakdown to put up a totally unexpected presentation and marched on to win B1's first interblock title back in 2008. Not to mention Bea Inocentes, Pamki Andrada and PK Katigbak's outstanding show to top the IMC component of last year's competition or the 3B2 08-09's performance that almost gained them the title that year despite a very rough midway path.
And what about the legendary 3B2 08-09 who held their fort as one united class to top the academic portion of the 08-09 circa? They almost had it all but the time was just painfully insufficient. I am very confident, that had they be given more preparation time, they would have swept the competition with the block's determination. All of that relentless effort to garner victory was never for their own, it was for their fallen blockmates who have lost sight of the path to passing the subject way back midterms.
Because one thing 3B1 and B2s have successfully done through the years, they found a solution faster than the problem consumed them. It became an imperative for B1 to ease out tensions, weed out the unnecessaries and stamp out a solid course of action.
Five days from now, interblock hits the road.
Objectively, I am not rooting for any block for interblock. Although 3A1 will always be my home (whether they like it or not), I want you to give 3A1 a hell of a competition since this year as it would only be a showdown instead of the usual four block face off. As much as one hell of a competition will haunt and then strengthen 3A1's road to PANA, I also want YOU to actualize your potentials.
At the start of the semester, it was already clear. I have a very talented 3B1 block. The department flirted with the idea of sending even the B1 contingent to the national competition but that would excessively rock the existing tempo.
Bear in mind that great minds will only gain great grounds when they function cohesively. Apart, 3B1 would simply be great heads fleeting in different directions and having their own opinions.
Sayang.
It is my wish to see you rally for in time for interblock. I want to see the old 3B1 there that has made all the previous B1 and B2 sections so endearing. I want you to battle for the right reasons and that is to find a resolve with a higher purpose of bonding the block together amidst all the different working habits there are. As varied energies are poured into the project, each individual would have one goal - to get this marketing stuff over with and move on to higher subjects. But this can only be possible if you win the competition. Otherwise, only half of the block would march to the next stage.
In the end of this thought, I just want you to be YOU. One of the best B1 blocks ever especially when you function as one.
Good luck on Saturday. :)
