Miracle Block of 2007

In November 17, 2007, a group of young Assumptionist climbed the Mount Everest of advertising academe - winning the 8th PANA Foundation Integrated Marketing Communication Competition. As Assumption College was named overall champions, we leaped, hugged and celebrated. We even cried a little but became the proudest block in the country that evening. On that day, the fruition of over 5 months of toiling, vacation-free semesters and countless late nights, came into full circle and the trophy became the realization of all the sweat, fears and anxiety. Finally, Assumption College became PANA Champion, a validation and a celebration. Years after, people asked me what the best time of the competition was for me in 2007. Was it the trophy, the celebration, or just the bragging rights of being called national champions? My answer is..... that it had to be right here... right in the heart of these young Assumptionists then, celebrating a championship rightfully theirs. All young ladies willing to extend so much of themselves for people they hardly knew 3 years ago. And living and studying like true champions through their remaining stay in Assumption. Because PANA is more than just an advertising competition for these young girls. It goes way beyond all the win and win columns written in all the journals and blogsites. Batches have passed and 2009 version of 3A1 did win 2nd runner up, but on that evening, 3A1 07-08 has given Assumption College, not just a victory, but a chance to hold their heads up and holler at the peak of their throats that they are indeed the best of the best.
