WHY ARE SOME PEOPLE SEEMINGLY AHEAD OF YOU?

The line I almost thought I would never hear again.

But I did from a colleague who is quite close. The moment I heard the lines, several schools of philosophical thoughts ran through my mind. Include laws of karma and dharma, buddhist principles and the watchamacallit literatures I have read about this.

All I can say is..... never judge a situation at face value. You will never know what is behind it and will come after it.

One book relayed a tale of a CEO. When he was 14 years old, a budding high school basketball star, he went up against the school's bitter rival in one of the most watched high school championships in the country. With the clock down to 16 seconds, the ball was in his possession and he pulled up for a jump shot and swished the marginal twinner.

All people hoisted the boy on their shoulders hailing him as the next basketball messiah.

Next year, he got the boot from his principal because of his failing grades. Because he was given superstar status, he was included in the country's youth teams and all his friends and foes were treating him like a national hero.

The same people who saw the boy being a hero suddenly turned the opposite way and said "ang malas naman niya. Sana hindi na lang siya nag MVP eh di andito pa siya sa school"

Upon transferring, the boy entered the depleted rival school's basketball team and started to stack up phenomenal number of points leading them to the national championship.

"Kita mo, ang swerte naman niya. Kung hindi siya na kick out eh di hindi siya ganun kasikat ngayon"

The story unfolded a number of ups and downs until the boy eventually became a CEO in the country's top 100.

One vital lesson is this... never judge the moment AT THAT MOMENT. This is being myopic and naive thinking that everything that matter is short term.

Things happen for a purpose and that purpose is defined by YOU even before you were born. That purpose has a function on how your soul wants to evolve. Everytime you encounter a moment, whether it is good or bad, luxurious or sad, just remember to embrace this.

Your soul knows where it should go. Embrace that moment knowing that there is a self defined purpose bigger than your consciousness that has a grand map. Learn as much as you can from it. Indian philosophers say that in order to move forward to another stage, you would have to solve the one in front of you. If not, the problem recurs with another face in a different scenario.

Just think for a moment why you are stuck at the stage you are in today. Why are you with people you cannot stand and seem to get into the same problem with a different face? Why are people not responding to your resume and you are stuck in a job you do not want? Worse, why are you back in the same scenario you were in that was exactly the same as your last job?

The answers from all these lies in a bigger purpose beyond comprehension. You would just have to believe and embrace your moment. Because through this you can truly move forward and evolve.
