There Would Only Be One Core

Exactly a year after they graduated, 3 years ago they were the PANA finalists and it feels like yesterday.

Inside the 3A1 - known as the Ninjas, there was one group of irreplaceable group we called "Core". Call it like the Earth or an apple, the core was a group that would steer everything that ever happened positively in the block. They were the core group to prepare and compete in PANA, they were the group who excelled in subjects after PANA, and they were the ones who got the headway when they proceeded to their professional world.

Considering this group was the most turbulent PANA campaign to date.

From the top advertising and PR agencies, to consumer companies to financial institutions, these distinguished group of people never got tired of making themselves better, academically and interpersonally.

Their success was never a doubt and I believe that they would go very very far in their careers.

Their formula for success?

  • Open mindedness
  • Humility
  • Fun loving
  • Togetherness
  • Hardworking
  • Continuous belief that they should develop themselves.
I value this group because they have shown time and again that they were and would be worth every single sweat, tears, laughs and smiles. And they remain to know what made them and would make them happy. Full achievers in life and they would continue to grow in their own wonderful ways.

Their best asset is that they never assumed how good they were as individuals and this has made them great as a group. This generation have always felt that the need to rise beyond their personal limitations will be the key to forming a good team.

They strive to their limits and they were willing to stretch it. Some of them told me that they were never talents when they were in high school. At first, I did not believe it. I have always thought that they had what it takes to build a good career. Until I heard their stories bit by bit and I started to realize how wonderful their 4 years have been in forming them to what they are.

The limits they allowed to be stretched became their standards the next day. That was the key to their perfection. Each lives had adversity scribbled all over their life's wall and it is odd that how adversities lead to their ability to survive, strive and excel.

As friends they have been truly good people. They are the ones that I have entrusted a lot and they will always be. As a group, I might not see them that often. Deep within me, they will always be little kids that used to giggle loudly along the halls of Assumption and laughing out loud with all the mababaw stuffs we see.

It would only an imagination before to have a bunch of wonderful students who I have grown up with in a span of 2 years. We still see each other, although not as often, and we remain close even up to this date. We spend Christmas reunions and unlimited chika time about our lives and how time has altered it. At times, I counsel them on love, career, family and about themselves. It would be also hard to believe that they do the same thing to me too.

Time may have changed a lot of things (like 20 pounds? =P) but one thing remains, the spirit of the ninja block and the core group will live in my heart forever.

To them, I thank you for making me a small part of your path to happiness and success.
